Tour de Ski 2022/2023 starts on New Year’s Eve. The Norwegian Team is now presented.

Now in its 17th edition, Tour de Ski consists of seven competitions over nine days in three different countries, and it’s the fifth round of the 2022/2023 FIS World Cup. 

In a press release, the Norwegian Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for Tour de Ski. Norway will start with 19 athletes. On the women’s side, Norway will begin with nine skiers. Already on the men’s side, ten athletes will start for the Scandinavian country. 

“The selection of 19 skiers for Tour de Ski 2022/2023 consists of 15 skiers from the Elite Teams. Silje Theodorsen, Team ELON Nord-Norge, and Margrethe Bergane, Equinor Rekrutlandslag, also get the opportunity, in addition to Astrid Øyre Slind (Team Aker Dæhlie). Håvard Moseby, Equinor National Team, now leads the Scandinavian Cup and thus qualifies for a place,” says cross-country manager Espen Bjervig.

  • Tour de Ski 2022/2023 starts in Val Müstair, Switzerland, on December 31 and concludes in Val di Fiemme, Italy, on January 8. 
  • The race consists of seven stages in nine days.
  • Tour de Ski 2022/2023 is the 17th edition of the brutal stage race. 

New this season is the same race distances for women and men in all World Cup events, as the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS) decided in May. Several other changes have also been introduced to the World Cup.
