Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter: The training destination for the whole family
At Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter, it is winter almost all year round! Here you can cross-country ski from May to Easter. The ski tunnel is open through January 31, 2027, and offers the opportunity to cross-country ski in stable conditions, whether it is raining, thawing or really cold outside. During the winter, there are several different outdoor ski trails to choose from.
Inside the ski tunnel, it is always minus three degrees. The track is 1.3km long and has 25 meters of elevation gain per lap. It is hilly enough for those who want to push hard, and easy to take at your own pace for those who just want to enjoy it. You can ski both classic and skate.
Since the first tracks were laid in 2006, the tunnel has become a meeting place for both recreational skiers and elite athletes. Families, clubs and national teams train here side by side. Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter is an official partner of the Swedish cross-country national team and an official Vasaloppet center.
Skating inside the tunnel
Not everyone in the family has to ski. The tunnel also has a small ice rink where you can skate, even in the middle of summer. It is well suited for the youngest, or for those who want to do something else while the rest of the group skis a few laps on the track.
Outside the tunnel, the activities continue. There is a playground, a small alpine slope, an outdoor gym and a disc golf course. Out on Valberget, there are also exercise trails for both beginners and the experienced. From summer 2027, the new roller skiing track will be completed. The new track will be about 3.5km long and around four meters wide, with a running trail alongside it.
Everything in one place
On site, there is accommodation, a restaurant, a gym, a ski shop and changing rooms, so it is easy to stay for a few days. Those who want to go in depth with their training can get tested at Torsby Testcenter and receive advice from experts. Biathletes can train at the shooting range inside the ski tunnel or outdoors by the roller skiing track with electronic targets. For those who want to develop their technique, there are also instructor sessions and group training in ski technique.
Those who want to head out on their own have several classics close by. The notorious roller ski climb up to Hovfjället has long been used by the national team to test their summer form. The scenic 27km Hovfjällsleden trail runs between the ski tunnel and the top of Hovfjället. A little farther south lies Tosseberg, a short but very steep climb with views over Fryken.
