The new Ski Classics Challengers event, Zelta Klasika 50, takes place this Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Piebalga, Latvia.

Zelta Klasika 50 became part of the Ski Classics Challengers series this season with a 50-kilometer race in classic technique in Latvia.

Zelta Klasika 50, translated as Golden Classic 50, is a long-distance skiing event in Piebalga, Latvia, for the first time as a 50km event.

The event is organized by the sports club/ski resort Zelta Krogs, located in one of the most beautiful places in Latvia – Piebalga! Standing 240m above sea level, which is very high for Latvia, the area has the deepest and longest winters in the country.

In addition, Piebalga is proud and well-known for its unique hilly landscape and cultural/historical heritage.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the Local Organizing Committee confirmed that all events will be held with the initially planned length, including the 50km race part of the Ski Classics Challengers: 50km (2x25km), 25km, 12km, and 3km.
