This Norwegian Pro Team consists of seven upcoming and promising skiers who want to show their true colors this winter. They may not be that strong on paper, but there is a spark among the team members that can take them closer to the top.

YC Rør Sjusjøen is based near Lillehammer, Norway, in the beautiful mountain area around Sjusjøen, where the conditions are perfect for training and hiking all year round.

For the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV, the squad is bringing seven Pro Team athletes, five men and two women: Sivert Bergan (1995), Ole Eirik Fuglehaug Ekrem (1995), Halvor Korbøl Thoner (1991), Dennis Steensen (2001), Edvard Sandvik (2001), Karen Marie Håkonsen (1999), and Thea Snortheimsmoen (2001).

YC Rør Sjusjøen Ski Team has a recruitment vision, working as a development squad for Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso. Some athletes on this Norwegian team can be reliable top-50 skiers in the Pro Tour, but they are certainly aiming much higher. Some are still young, and not much can be expected from them, but they can raise the bar in the future.

“YC Rør Sjusjøen Ski Team wants to be a recruitment team for long-distance skiing. Our main goal is to recruit strong skiers for both Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, but also some of the other big teams in Ski Classics,” says Pro Team Director Halvor Korbøl Thoner and adds:

“Team team works closely with Team Næringsbanken Stora Enson being organized through the same organization.”

The Norwegian Pro Team has a clear goal for the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV:

“The team’s goal for the winter is to fight for top 30 positions, and we will have reached our goal if some of our skiers make the step up to some of the best teams in Ski Classics next year.”
