Bad Gastein ITT, the first stage in the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI, took place this Saturday in Austria. With solid performances, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs and Amund Hoel, both from Team Engcon, won the 7km individual time trial race in Sportgastein.

BAD GASTEIN ITT – WOMEN’S RACE

In the women’s competition, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, crushed today’s Individual Time Trial competition.

Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, showed a strong performance throughout the race and, at the 3.3km split, was already in first place, 0.4 seconds ahead of Hedda Bångman, eD System Vltava Fund Team, and 4.8 seconds ahead of Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden.

In the 6.5km split, Gjerde Alnæs was still in the lead and 6.9 seconds ahead of Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, in second place, and 10.0 seconds ahead of Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, in third position. 

At the finish, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, won with a slim margin of 6.1 seconds over Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, and left Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, with the remaining place on the podium, finishing 11.3 seconds behind the winner.

Hedda Bångman, eD System Vltava Fund Team, finished in the 4th position, 17.1 seconds behind, and Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, ended up in the 5th place, 18.2 seconds back.
