The Ski Classics Challengers event, Åsarna Ski Marathon, took place yesterday with a 45km long-distance race in classic technique in Åsarna, Sweden.

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Åsarna Ski Marathon, took place yesterday with a 45km long-distance race in classic technique in Åsarna, Sweden.

The Ski Classics Challengers event saw Viktor Brännmark, Piteå Elit SK, and Moa Lundgren, Exsitec Ski Team/Åsarna IK, winning their respective races with solid performances.

Åsarna Ski Marathon – Men’s Race

In the men’s race, the winner, Viktor Brännmark, Piteå Elit SK, completed the race in a time of 2:10.40.2.

Fredrik Jonsson, Hudiksvalls IF, finished in second place, with a total time of 2:10:43.2, followed by Oskar Svensson, Falun Borlånge SK, completing the podium in the third position and a total time of 2:11:35.5

Åsarna Ski Marathon – Top 3 Men

  1. Viktor Brännmark, Piteå Elit SK, 2:10.40.2
  2. Fredrik Jonsson, Hudiksvalls IF, +3.0
  3. Oskar Svensson, Falun Borlånge SK, +55.3

Åsarna Ski Marathon – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Moa Lundgren, Exsitec Ski Team/Åsarna IK, with a total time of 2:14:03.3. 

Wilma Jönsson, Östersunds SK, finished in second place, with a time of 2:23:29.1, followed by Julia Löfström, Trillevallens SK, with a total time of 2:28.04.3, and completing the podium in the third position.

  1. Moa Lundgren, Exsitec Ski Team/Åsarna IK, 2:14:03.3
  2. Wilma Jönsson, Östersunds SK, +9:25.8
  3. Julia Löfström, Trillevallens SK, +14:01.0

As Åsarna Ski Marathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
