TEAM JANTELOPPET

The now Team Janteloppet was founded last season by Petter Northug Jr. after announcing his serious comeback to the professional rankings. Northug is one of the greatest cross-country ski legends, winning 13 World Championships and two Winter Olympic gold medals, with 20 medals overall.

Team Janteloppet counts on local Norwegian power and some Italian touch with one Pro Team athlete from Central Europe.

For the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV, the team is bringing seven Pro Team athletes, four men and three women: Petter Northug Jr. (1986), Pål Trøan Aune (1992), Even Northug (1995), Joar Thele (1993), Fanny Marie Moeller Endresen (1993), Maren Engeskaug Nielsen (1995), and Alessia De Zolt Ponte (1999).

“Team Janteloppet, spearheaded by the legendary Olympic and World Champion Petter Northug Jr., is redefining cross-country skiing for the modern era. More than just an elite ski team, we represent a resurgence of passion and commitment to a sport deeply rooted in tradition,” says Pro Team Director Pål Trøan Aune, and adds:

“With a potent mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, we are on a mission to bring cross-country skiing back to the limelight, infusing it with contemporary style and energy.

The Pro Team Director sheds some insight on the team’s goals for the Ski Classics Season XV: “By blending the timeless grace of classic skiing with innovative techniques and a fresh perspective, Team Janteloppet is set to reignite the world’s love affair with the pristine trails and snowy landscapes and fight for podiums and victories on the road. Join us as we journey to make cross-country skiing not just a sport but a cultural phenomenon once again.”
