Ski Classics Strongly Condemns Luusua’s Doping Offence

In an official statement earlier today, Ski Classics strongly condemned the Finnish skier Ari Luusua’s use of doping and strengthens cooperation with FIS and WADA.

Luusua has raced in Ski Classics and the long-distance series has made a statement:

“Ski Classics strongly condemns the use of doping by Finnish skier Ari Luusua, including the use of anabolic substances, for which he has been convicted and is banned from all sports until 26 August 2025. Ski Classics actively support Anti Doping and are part of WADA’s anti-doping system (World Anti-Doping Agency) through FIS (International Ski Federation) where all our events and athletes are licensed. In addition to WADA and FIS initiatives within cross-country skiing, Ski Classics has a number of additional initiatives to ensure a fair sport,” writes Ski Classics and continues:

“This specific doping case harms the sport of long-distance skiing and the brand of Ski Classics, hence the decision is to fine the athlete with the maximum amount of Eur 100.000,” writes Ski Classics, which also announced that the collaboration with WADA and FIS will be further strengthened.
