On Sunday, March 17, 2024, with a sunny day and temperatures below zero at Birkebeinerrennet, the men started at 7:45 CET and the women at 8:00 CET. The action started early, and there was a thrilling race among both the men and women, with Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, and Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, winning the race from Rena to Lillehammer with superior performances.

CHAMPION COMPETITION

When we look at the Ski Classics general classification after Birkebeinerrennet, the Yellow Champion Bib Competition belongs to Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, and Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden.

In the men’s battle for the overall, the Yellow bib rests on Kasper Stadaas’ shoulders. Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, leads the Champion competition with 1553 points after Birkebeinerrennet. 

Second place overall is Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, with 1552 points, only one point behind his teammate.

Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, is the new third place overall, with 1300 points, thanks to his Birkebeinerrennet Grand Classics win.

In the women’s overall, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, is leading with a total of 2065 points.

Fleten is followed by Kati Roivas, Team Eksjöhus, with 1616 points. Third place overall is now Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, with 1300 points, thanks to her win this weekend.

SPRINT COMPETITION

After no Sprint checkpoints this weekend at Birkebeinerrennet, Amund Hoel, Team Engcon, carries the Green bib of the men’s Sprint competition with 196 points. Second place is Alfred Buskqvist, Team Ramudden, with 135 points. Simen Ramstad, Team Kaffebryggeriet, is in third place with 125 points.

After Birkebeinerrennet, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, is the Green bib holder with 266 points. Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Ragde Charge, is the second place with 157 points, and Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, is in third place with 130 points. 

CLIMB COMPETITION

After the weekend, Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, with 151 points, and Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, with 307 points, are carrying the bib in the Climb Competition.

In the men’s side, Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, now leads the Climb competition with 151 points. Thomas Bing, eD system Silvini Team, is in second place with 146 points, followed by Thomas Ødegaarden, Team Eksjöhus, in third place, with 138 points.

In the women’s Climb competition, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, leads with 307 points. Kati Roivas, Team Eksjöhus, is now in second place with 173 points, followed by Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, in third with 156 points.

YOUTH COMPETITION

The Pink bibs in the Youth Competition are resting on the shoulders of Thomas Ødegaardem, Team Eksjöhus, and Karolina Hedenström, Lager 157 Ski Team, with 1194 and 1216 points, respectively.

Thomas Ødegaardem, Team Eksjöhus, is leading with 1194 points. Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, is in second place with 1132 points, and Amund Riege, Team Ramudden, with 887 points, is in third place for the Youth bib overall.

Karolina Hedenström, Lager 157 Ski Team, is leading with 1216 points. Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, is in second place with 1097 points, followed by Julie Kvale Støstad, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, in third place for the Pink bib with 940 points.

PRO TEAM COMPETITION

Team Eksjöhus leads the Pro Team Competition with 2080 points after Birkebeinerrennet. Second place belongs to Team Ragde Charge with 1780 points.

Team Engcon sits in third place overall with 1620 points after the weekend.
