For Ski Classics Pro Tour, the new collaboration with VG is a milestone.

“Ski Classics is on the rise in Norway; last winter, the TV audience had an average increase of 10% per event. With the transforming media sports landscape we are in, the cooperation with VG TV, the biggest media site in Norway, is very interesting for the future. In addition, this winter, state TV NRK owns the rights to 12 of the 15 events in the Pro Tour,” says David Nilsson, CEO Ski Classics.

Big names, innovative competitions

On Friday, Season XV opens up in Felsentherme outdoor Spa, 16:45 – 18:30 CET, with a Team Presentation stage event, introducing all 35 Pro Teams competing this winter.

Then, on Saturday, the Pro Tour Season XV will launch with the Bad Gastein PTT – Pro Team Tempo, covering 13km. The Pro Team Tempo is organized as an interval start competition with block starts. After a short full team presentation, the male skiers of the Pro Team start with a 6,5km loop, the second male over the finish line is the start shot for the Pro Team female skiers, and the second female to cross the finish line after their 6,5km loop gives the Pro Teams total time.

Continuing the action-packed premiere weekend, the Bad Gastein Criterium will take place on Sunday. This long-distance race spans 35km and is characterized by a mass start event, comprising several laps on a challenging course, pushing skiers to their limits.

The Season XV of Ski Classics Pro Tour consists of 15 events on 11 event weekends in 6 different countries, starting in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 9, 2023, and ending in Norway with the 100km Ski Classics Grand Finale Janteloppet on April 13, 2024.
