This Norwegian Pro Team consists of six upcoming and promising skiers who want to show their true colors this winter. A spark among the team members can take them closer to the top.

Sjusjøen Ski Team has a recruitment vision, working as a development squad for Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso and other Pro Teams. Some athletes on this Norwegian team can be reliable top 50 skiers in the Pro Tour, but they are certainly aiming much higher. Some are still young, and they can raise the bar soon.

For the upcoming Ski Classics Season XVI, the squad is bringing six Pro Team athletes, three women, and three men: Maren Navarrete Åberg (2001), Karen Marie Håkonsen (1999), Karen Amalie Nordseth (2000), Halvor Korbøl Thoner (1991), Anders Grini (2003), and Jørgen Harby (2001).

“Sjusjøen Ski Team is a Norwegian development team with a clear recruitment vision in long-distance skiing, serving as a feeder team for Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso and other top Pro Teams in Ski Classics. The team has ambitious goals for its athletes, aiming for even higher rankings in the future, despite some already being reliable competitors in the Pro Tour,” says Pro Team Director and athlete Halvor Korbøl Thoner and adds:

“With a combination of experienced skiers and promising young athletes, the team focuses on developing athletes capable of breaking into the top ranks. The best results from last season were achieved by Thea Snortheimsmoen, who placed 13th in the Birkebeinerrennet, and Karen Amalie Nordseth, who secured 19th place at La Diagonela.”

The Norwegian squad has a clear goal for the upcoming Ski Classics Season XVI:

“For the upcoming Ski Classics season, the goal is to compete for the top 30 positions in the men’s category and top 15 in the women’s category. The team will consider the season successful if some of the skiers take the step to join some of the best teams in Ski Classics next year,” concludes the Pro Team Director.
