Team Engcon announced that the long-distance star Ida Dahl is joining the Pro Team for the coming season. Dahl’s partner, Eddie Edström, strengthens the men’s side.

“I am happy and super-tagged for what I have now been offered,” says Ida Dahl in the Team Engcon press release.

At the Ski Classics Season XII, Ida Dahl won the Youth competition for the third year and took second place in the Yellow bib competition for the second year in a row. But not least, she took her first victories in the Pro Tour. Now, Dahl is looking forward to joining Jerry Arhlin’s Pro Team.

“It will be fun to work with Jerry Ahrlin as team manager. He has tremendous experience and professionalism. Then I look forward to being part of the same team as my partner Eddie, says Ida Dahl to Langd.se and continues:

“So I have been second before, and then there are not so many other goals than trying to win. But I know it’s going to be tough. Britta, Lina, and several other talented girls have stopped. Still, for example, Jenny Larsson is on her way back, and Magne Smedås will dedicate full time to long-distance skiing so that it will be a very tough competition, but I will work hard to succeed.”

For Jerry Ahrlin, Team Engcon Pro Team Director, Ida’s arrival and other Pro Tour skiers mean that the team’s goal is the top of the ranking.

“Ida is one of the world’s best long-distance skiers, and together with existing skiers and additional new acquisitions that are on their way, Team Engcon will definitely be involved and fight in the top next season,” says Ahrlin.

Another reinforcement for Team Engcon is Eddie Edström. Dahl’s partner finished Season XII in the 16th position in the Champion competition and is expected to further develop in the upcoming season.

“Eddie impressed a lot during his first season as a long-distance skier. I’m pretty sure he’ll take another step this season. Eddie is exactly the type of person and skier we want in our long-term venture,” Jerry Ahrlin concludes.
