The Finnish World Cup skier Remi Lindholm will compete in Vasaloppet this Sunday for the Austrian Ski Classics Pro Team.

The 28-year-old has already represented the Finnish national team at cross-country World Cup races, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. His greatest achievement to date is a 7th place in the 50km skating at the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim. In 2024, he won the Finnish national championship over 50km classic in Rovaniemi.

After missing Olympic qualification, Vasaloppet represents a season highlight for the strong Finn. Remi Lindholm has not set a specific goal for the race, but he can draw on many years of ski marathon experience. Among other results, he has already achieved podium finishes at the Finlandia Hiihto and the Vuokatti Hiihto.

Peter Kiene, Pro Team Director of the Cibes Lift Ski-Willy Marathon Team, is extremely pleased with the high-profile addition:

“I’m very happy that Remi is racing for our team. He is a huge reinforcement, and together with Juuso Mäkelä, we now have two athletes with the potential to place in the top at the Vasaloppet. The start field is incredibly strong, but over the 90 kilometers from Sälen to Mora, a lot can happen… and the last Finnish victory dates far back, to 1973, with Pauli Siitonen. Remi has also confirmed his participation at Marcialonga Bodø, which brings us one step closer to our goal of a top-15 finish in the team ranking.”
