Reigning champion Emil Persson: “The goal is to win Vasaloppet and the Yellow bib”
Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, is on-site in Sportgastein, Austria, for the start of Ski Classics Season XV. The last preparations did not go as desired for Persson, who won nine events during the previous winter’s Season XIV and who won the Yellow Champion’s bib by a considerable margin.
About a week ago, Emil Persson was affected by the Covid:
“I’ve been training for a few days, but I’m far from peak form,” says Persson, who last season won the Criterium race in Bad Gastein (to be held on Sunday again this year).
“It is clear that it gives me good self-confidence here. It was a nice and fun competition, but then it is clear that the expectations are a little lower considering the situation.”
What is the main goal of the season?
“To win Vasaloppet and the Yellow,” says Persson to Langd.se.
