The Ski Classics Challengers event, Finlandia Ski Marathon Freestyle, took place this Sunday with a 42km long-distance freestyle skiing race in Lahti, Finland. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, one of the Ski Classics Challengers events in Finland, Finlandia Ski Marathon Freestyle, saw a fierce battle for all the podium places. Ultimately, Veeti Pyykkö, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, and Hilla Niemelä won their respective races with solid performances.

Finlandia Ski Marathon Freestyle – 42km Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Veeti Pyykkö, Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, completed the race in a time of 1:40:27.1.

Markus Vuorela, Jämin Jänne, finished in second place, 1.9 seconds behind, followed by Topias Kemppi, GRK Infra Oyj, completing the podium in third position and 2.9 seconds back.

Finlandia Ski Marathon Freestyle – 42km Women’s Race 

In the women’s competition, the winner was Hilla Niemelä, completing the event in a total time of 1:50:21.6.

Katariina Lonka finished in second place, 4.5 seconds back, followed by Oona Kettunen, Team Futura GTE Trentino/AK-Pulping Oy, 5.4 seconds behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.
