James Clugnet strengthens the Czech Pro Tour Team Slavia Pojišťovna Sport Team Z.S.

James Clugnet is a 25-years old British national team skier, represents Highland Nordic Ski Club, and now strengthens the Czech Pro Tour Team Slavia Pojišťovna Sport Team Z.S. 

Clugnet was born and raised in the mountains around Grenoble, France, by a French father and an English mother. He made his World Cup debut at Ruka, Finland, in November 2017 and scored his first World Cup points in Davos, Switzerland, in December 2018. 

James Clugnet’s goals on traditional cross-country skiing are the World Cups, and his favorite discipline is the sprint, where he competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics. 

Some of Clugnet’s best results in the World Cup and Olympics are: 

  • Team Sprint 2022 Beijing Olympics – 20th place
  • 15km C World Cup Lahti 2022 – 52nd place
  • Sprint F World Cup Ulricehamn 2021 – 16th place
  • Sprint F World Cup Are 2020 – 9th place
  • Sprint F World Cup Dresden 2020 – 12th place

Next up in the Visma Ski Classics is Birkebeinerrennet. The 54-kilometer classic race takes place in Norway on March 19, 2022.
