On the first weekend of February, the classic long-distance race König Ludwig Lauf will once again take place in the beautiful landscape in the Ammergau Alps, Bavaria, Germany. The race starts in Ettal and takes you through the Graswang Valley, past the Linderhof Palace, towards the finish line in Oberammergau.

During the race weekend on February 2-4, there are several distances to choose from. You can ski 10 kilometers, 21 kilometers, or 45 kilometers and choose between classic and skate skiing.

Ski Classics Challengers – König Ludwig Lauf 45km

König Ludwig Lauf is one of Germany’s biggest cross-country skiing events, which invites you to the nature park Ammergauer Alps.

During the main race of 45km in classic technique, part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, immerse yourself in an unforgettable winter experience in the Valley of King Ludwig II as you pass the world-famous Abbey Ettal through the Graswangtal, the castle park of Linderhof, to the finish at the village in Oberammergau. Experience unique cultural highlights at one race in Europe’s most beautiful high valleys.

As König Ludwig Lauf’s 45km race is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
