McKeever and Mehain winners of Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic 2024

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic, took place this Saturday with a 41km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Vernon, Canada. Check out the results.

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic, took place this Saturday with a 41km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Vernon, Canada. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event in Canada, Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic, saw Xavier McKeever, Foothills Nordic, and Hannah Mehain, Sovereign Lake Nordic Club, winning their respective races with solid performances.

Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic – 41km Men’s Race 

In the men’s competition, Xavier McKeever, Foothills Nordic, won with a total time of 1:55:42.6.

Tom Stephen, Foothills Nordic, finished in second place, 0.8 seconds back, followed by Max Hollman, 1:27.8 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  1. Xavier McKeever, Foothills Nordic, 1:55:42.6
  2. Tom Stephen, Foothills Nordic, +0.8

Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon Classic – 41km Women’s Race

In the women’s event, the winner, Hannah Mehain, Sovereign Lake Nordic Club, completed the race in a time of 2:24:06.7.

Anna Sellers, eD system Silvini Team, finished in second place, 4:57.6 behind. Dasha Atkins, Space Dogs Ski Club, completed the podium in third place, 6:33.2 back.

As the 41km classic and skate races are Ski Classics Challengers events, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
