Yesterday, the cross-country ski season started in Sweden with the sprint competition. Today in Gällivare, the 15 km classic race took place for male skiers, and Team Ramudden’s double-poling master Max Novak, who won last year’s season premiere, started fast and was close to the top at the intermediate control points. Towards the end, he was not able to keep up the same pace and he was 23^rd. He finished 1:39 minutes behind the winner Leo Johansson, Dario Cologna was second and Eric Rosjö third. Team Ramudden’s Herman Paus was 26^th while Team Eksjöhus’ Axel Jutterström finished right behind him, 27^th. The women’s 10 km classic race will take place soon.
