Lylynperä and Ahonen winners of Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon 2023

The Ski Classics Challengers event Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon, a 60km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique, took place today in Imatra, Finland. Check out the results.

After a day of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon saw Katri Lylynperä, Team Kaskipuu, and Ville Ahonen, Imatran Urheilijat, win the race with solid performances.

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon – 60km Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Katri Lylynperä, Team Kaskipuu, with a total time of 2:29:57.3, won ahead of Josefiina Böök, Jämin Jänne, in second place and 7.7 seconds back.

Siiri Kaijansinkko, Iisalmen Visa, 9.6 seconds behind the winner, finished in third place.

  1. Katri Lylynperä, Team Kaskipuu, 2:29:57.3
  2. Josefiina Böök, Jämin Jänne, +7.7
  3. Siiri Kaijansinkko, Iisalmen Visa, +9.6
  4. Eerika Konu, Team Kaskipuu, +17.4
  5. Iida Vuollet, Team Kaskipuu, +7:01.7

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon – 60km Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Ville Ahonen, Imatran Urheilijat, with a total time of 2:30:09.5.

Joonas Sarkkinen, ProSki Oulu, finished in second place, 0.1 seconds behind the winner, followed by Olli Ahonen, Imatran Urheilijat, 1.0 seconds back and completing the podium in the third position.

As the Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
