Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, will not start this Saturday’s Birkebeinerrennet in Norway. The Pro Tour skier tested positive for Covid-19 after Vasaloppet.

Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, will not start at Birkebeinerrennet due to a Covid infection.

“It was a couple of days after Vasaloppet I started to feel the symptoms. Since then, I have been at home, lying on the couch and waiting to get well,” Korsgren tells SVT Sport.

“I have been looking forward to racing; we have not been there in two years. It would have been fun to ski the race, but that’s what it is,” she continues.

After Birken, Årefjällsloppet, Reistadløpet, and Ylläs-Levi are the remaining Visma Ski Classics events this season. Korsgren does not currently know if she will be able to start in those races.

“It is a big uncertainty as I have not been able to train, but I take it daily. I am afraid my breathing will be compromised,” Korsgren tells SVT.
