Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon Takes Place This Weekend

The Ski Classics Challengers event Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a 60km long-distance rollerski race in classic technique taking place this Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4, in Imatra, Finland.

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a classic rollerski competition between the Ukonniemi Stadium, Imatra Spa, and Holiday Club Saimaa. The route follows the coast of Saimaa Lake, and in some places, the course opens to a beautiful landscape of Saimaa, Finland.

The racecourse is 10km long, and there will be six laps starting and finishing in the Ukonniemi Stadium. When racing, participants can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the largest lake in Finland. 

The women’s competition will be held on Saturday, September 3, and the men’s competition on Sunday, September 4. 

Imatra offers one of the best rollerski conditions in Finland, with a modern shooting area. Ski Club Imatran Urheilijat has long experience organizing cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions.

As Lake Saimma Roller Ski Marathon (women and men) is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender. 

Everyone participating in Ski Classics, Pro Tour or Challengers events, professional and recreational skiers, can connect their profile to the results database of Ski Classics, called MyPages.

MyPages can be connected when subscribing to Ski Classics online community proxcskiing.com. In the profile, you can view your Ski Classics event results, collect pins, print diplomas, and analyze your results with friends in the SC ranking system. In your profile, you collect points according to your performances and are rewarded with pins and diplomas.

One of the central features of MyPages is that you get your global SC ranking. The SC Ranking is a live updated international ranking, unique in combining women and men, professional and recreational skiers in one single list.
