La Transjurassienne, a 50km Ski Classics Challengers event planned to take place in the Jura Mountain, France, on February 11, 2024, is now canceled due to adverse snow conditions.

The 50km long La Transjurassienne takes place annually in the Jura Mountains with nearly 4500 participants, but due to adverse snow conditions, it had to be canceled for 2024.

The Local Organizing Committee released a notice about the cancelation on their official website:

“CANCELLATION OF LA TRANSJU’ 2024…

Due to the lack of snow in the Jura Massif and taking into account the mild weather conditions announced, it is with great regret that we must make the difficult decision to cancel the 2024 edition of La Transju’ scheduled for February 10 and 11.

Since the beginning of January, we have been monitoring the weather conditions and studying the various options on all routes. The terrain is currently impassable, and unfortunately, none of the fallback routes mentioned can be used… We made this decision as soon as possible, aware of the frustrations and inconvenience caused by the cancellation.

2024 registrations are automatically extended to next year, February 8 and 9, 2025.

Despite the wishes and will of the entire organization team, without forgetting the volunteers and partners, we will not be able to bring you La Transju’.

Thank you for your understanding and support.”
