The Ski Classics Challengers event, Tana-Varangerrennet, took place this Saturday with an 80km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Tana, Norway. Check out the results.

After a day of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event in Norway, Tana-Varangerrennet, saw Henrik Arntzen Joks, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, and Else Merethe Tangen Flåtan, Sørkedalens IF, winning their respective races with solid performances.

Tana-Varangerrennet – 80km Men’s Race 

In the men’s competition, the winner was Henrik Arntzen Joks, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, with a total time of 4:26:26.0.

Daniel Strand, Alta IF, finished in second place, 13:35.0 back, followed by Petter Dervola Johansen, Forsøk IL, 31:29.0 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

Tana-Varangerrennet – Top 3 Men

  1. Henrik Arntzen Joks, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, 4:26:26.0
  2. Daniel Strand, Alta IF, +13:35.0
  3. Petter Dervola Johansen, Forsøk IL, +31:29.0

Tana-Varangerrennet – 80km Women’s Race

In the women’s event, the winner, Else Merethe Tangen Flåtan, Sørkedalens IF, completed the race in a time of 5:53:11.0.

June Rognmo, Kirkenes & Omegn SK, finished in second place, 52:21.0 behind, followed by Marita Steffensen, Båtsfjord Sportsklubb, completing the podium in third position and 53:22.0 back.

  1. Else Merethe Tangen Flåtan, Sørkedalens IF, 5:53:11.0
  2. June Rognmo, Kirkenes & Omegn SK, +52:21.0
  3. Marita Steffensen, Båtsfjord Sportsklubb, +53:22.0

As the 80km race is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
