Jizerská50, the sixth stage of the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVII, is one of Central Europe’s premier long-distance skiing races and the second Grand Classics event of the season.

Scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the picturesque Bedřichov, Czech Republic, Jizerská50 spans 50 kilometers and challenges skiers to demonstrate their endurance and skills.

It’s an event that effortlessly combines the breathtaking landscapes reminiscent of Scandinavian skiing competitions with a distinct European charm, offering the best of both worlds.

“Jizerská Padesátka is a fantastic ski race that, over the years, has continuously developed and become a natural Grand Classics event. The number of recreational skiers has also increased, and we expect over 9000 skiers to be part of the Jizerská week. New this year is since there is a sprint event Friday before, no Green Sprint points are handed out on the Sunday event,” says Ski Classics Director Oskar Svärd.

Enchanting Journey in the Jizera Mountains

Jizerská50 was established in the late 1960s when mountain climbers decided to organize a race in the area. The first race in 1968 had only 52 participants. Still, it grew into a welcoming festival for local and international participants, who get to experience an unforgettable adventure in the wilderness of the Jizera Mountains.

The event also honors 15 local mountain climbers who participated in the race in 1970 and four months later met their doom in the mountains of Peru when a landslide hit their expedition.

A True Folkfest

The start and finish are in Bedřichov, a charming mountain village with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The organizers emphasize that Jizerská50 is a true ‘Folkfest,’ where professional and recreational skiers come together to celebrate the spirit of skiing.

Besides the global audience brought by Ski Classics, the race is followed by millions of Czech viewers, making it one of the most popular sports events in the country.
