Following the disappointment of the canceled Jizerská50 in Bedřichov, Czech Republic, the eD system Silvini Team eagerly anticipated the following Pro Tour events, which unfolded in Sweden at the renowned Grönklitt venue. Two challenging races awaited the Pro Team: a demanding 60km race on Saturday followed by a 13km individual time trial on Sunday.

Despite facing unexpected challenges, the Czech Pro Team, eD system Silvini Team, showcased resilience and determination throughout the weekend. Originally planning to field two women and two men, the team’s lineup shifted due to unforeseen circumstances. With Martin Jakš sidelined by illness and Kája Grohová unable to compete due to illness, the team pressed on with one man and two women, supported by a dedicated team of three servicemen.

In a press release, Pro Team Director Marek Pazderský emphasized the magnitude of the endeavor, likening it to a “mini-expedition” against formidable Nordic Pro Teams. Despite the adversity, the eD system Silvini Team’s preparation paid off, thanks partly to the invaluable support of partners like Skiservis Mára.

The 60km race proved to be a grueling test of endurance, with a challenging course featuring numerous turns, steep climbs, and a punishing finish ascent to the ski slope. Anna-Marie Hejná showcased her tenacity, steadily improving throughout the race to finish 33rd. Laura Stichling, despite facing challenges with ski selection, fought bravely to secure 41st place.

Thomas Bing displayed remarkable determination in the men’s race, leading the pack and clinching the Climber’s checkpoint. Despite a formidable effort, he settled for 11th place, securing the Climber’s bib for the day.

Sunday’s 13km individual time trial presented fresh challenges, with Laura Stichling rebounding to claim 28th place while Anna-Marie Hejná, tired from the previous day’s exertions, secured 32nd place.

Thomas Bing reflected on the demanding weekend, acknowledging the importance of energy management in back-to-back competitions. Anna Marie Hejná expressed satisfaction with her performance, highlighting the invaluable support of the service team. Laura Stichling embraced the highs and lows of competition, emphasizing the importance of resilience and teamwork.

The Grönklitt events served as a testament to the eD system Silvini Team’s spirit and determination, underscoring their resilience in the face of adversity and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Next up is Vasaloppet on Sunday, March 3. The 90-kilometer long-distance skiing race in classic technique marks the eleventh Ski Classics stage of Season XV.

The Season XV of Ski Classics Pro Tour consists of 15 events on 11 event weekends in 6 different countries.
