Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII comes to an end on Sunday, April 4, 2027, with the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, a 60km classic event between Bardufoss and Finnsnes, Norway.

Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII comes to an end on Sunday, April 4, 2027, with the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, a 60km classic event between Bardufoss and Finnsnes, Norway.

The season ends with one of the most visually spectacular events in Ski Classics. Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja takes athletes from Bardufoss across demanding inland terrain, then descends toward the coast and finishes in Finnsnes, the gateway to the island of Senja.

At 60 kilometers, it is a true endurance test that closes the season with a blend of high-mountain scenery and dramatic coastal views, and with its length, elevation profile, and late-season conditions, it is expected to influence the final battles for the Champion, Sprint, Climb, and Youth bibs.

The event also features the Iconic Climb Magdaskaret and the Premium Sprint Austtjønnmyra.

Introduced in Season XIV to conclude Ski Classics’ Grand Finale concept, Summit 2 Senja has quickly become a standout on the calendar, twice voted Event of the Season.

Since its introduction, the Grand Finale has also opened its start field to recreational skiers. Up to 250 spots are reserved for athletes outside the Pro Team field, available to skiers who complete at least one Pro Tour event within the winner’s time plus 50 percent, two Challengers events under the same requirement, or last season’s Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja within that same limit. Once qualified, a Grand Finale Qualifier Pin appears in the skier’s SC MyPages account, granting access to register alongside the Pro Team athletes.

“Summit 2 Senja is special because it takes the skiers on an unforgettable journey from the mountain to the fjords. It’s a unique combination of challenging skiing, spectacular nature and a finish that creates an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. Welcome to the final event of Ski Classics!” says Leif Gunnar Arnesen, Chief of Competition.
