Gérard Agnellet And Alayna Sonnesyn Winners Of American Birkebeiner

Today, American Birkebeiner, a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event in North America, took place in Hayward, USA. The long-distance race was a scene for a high-level international competition, pleasant weather, and beautiful landscapes.

Today, American Birkebeiner, a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event in North America, took place in Hayward, USA. The long-distance race was a scene for a high-level international competition, pleasant weather, and beautiful landscapes.

At the end of the day, the big winners were Gérard Agnellet, Haute Savoie Nordic Team/La Clusaz, from France, and Alayna Sonnesyn, SMS T2/Minneapolis, USA .

In the men’s race, the action was also intense until the final meters of the race, with the decision remaining for the exciting final sprint with three athletes fighting for the top spot on the podium.

With a total time of 2:07:24, Gerard Agnellet, Haute Savoie Nordic Team/La Clusaz, from France, became the winner, followed by the American David Norris, APU Nordic/North Pole, in second place. Adam Martin, Green Racing Project/Craftsbury Common, finished third.

In the women’s race, all three podium athletes came to the finish line together and sprinted to win. Alayna Sonnesyn, SMS T2/Minneapolis, won the 50km race at 2:22:52. Second place went to Caitlin Patterson, Green Racing Project/Craftsbury Common, and Rosie Frankowski, APU Nordic/Anchorage, completed the podium in third place.

The following Visma Ski Classics Challengers events are Arctic Alta Skimaraton in Norway and Latloppet in Latvia tomorrow, February 27.
