Double action this weekend in Leutasch, Austria. Saturday, it’s time for the 50km Ganghoferlauf Classic, and Sunday, the 42km Ganghoferlauf Skating race.

Ganghoferlauf entered last year for the first time the Visma Ski Classics Challengers series with two long-distance skiing races and will this year be able to host the event as a Challengers event for the first time.

On March 5 and 6, 2022, Leutasch will host the 51st edition of Austria’s oldest cross-country skiing race. Ganghoferlauf is a two-day event and attracts around 2000 skiers every year.

Each long-distance race in both techniques – 50km classic and 42km skating – is part of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers ranking and takes place in the impressive, snow-assured Leutasch Valley, located between Wetterstein mountain range and Hohe Munde.
