After a surgical attack in the final part of Prato Piazza climb, let’s find out what Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, has to say about his first podium and Visma Ski Classics win in today’s Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge.

“It was a crazy race; we haven’t ever done anything like this before. It was like waiting for the entire first hill, up to the real hill starts. I felt I had a lot more to give, but I had to save it for later. I started questioning myself on the hill because it was quite tough, but I knew I still had something left to give. Then I just gave it all and pushed hard in the end, and it was perfect.”

For Eklöf, the course met his expectations.

“This is like the perfect kind of race for me. I would be glad if we had more of this.”

After three wins in two days, it seems that Team Ramudden’s spirit is in balance.

“Before, we used to say that we were better in the races than on paper. And this season is like that; it is happening. The flow in the team is so good right now. And gives you so much inspiration to have all these people around you.”

Eklöf is already looking for next weekend’s Visma Ski Classics event.

“We stay here until Wednesday, just training, and then we go to the next race. It would be shorter, but with quite a lot of hills, so that could suit me as well,” Johannes Eklöf concludes.
