Eklöf and Bångman winners of Challengers Båstad-Mölle 2023

The Ski Classics Challengers event Båstad-Mölle, a 74km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique, took place today from Båstad to Mölle, Sweden. Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, and Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, showed their summer form and won the challenging race. 

The Ski Classics Challengers event Båstad-Mölle, a 74km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique, took place today from Båstad to Mölle, Sweden. Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, and Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, showed their summer form and won the challenging race. 

After a day full of action in the windy and most southern Swedish county, Skåne, the Ski Classics Challengers event Båstad-Mölle saw Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, and Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, winning the race with convincing performances.

Båstad-Mölle – Men’s Race

The winner of the men’s competition was Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden. A small front group was formed at the first part of the race, and over the kilometers, only two men stayed in the front, Johannes Eklöf and Andreas Svensson.

In the last part of the men’s race, Eklöf got a considerable gap towards the end and never looked back, winning the race with a total time of 3:06:38.0.

Andreas Svensson, Ulricehamns IF, finished in second place, 5:28.0 behind, followed by Hugo Hilmersson, Göteborgs Skidklubb, 13:34.0 back and in a tight sprint finish to the third place on the podium.

  1. Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, 3:06:38.0
  2. Andreas Svensson, Ulricehamns IF, +5:28.0
  3. Hugo Hilmersson, Göteborgs Skidklubb, +13:34:0
  4. Markus Jönsson, Tranemo IF Skidor, +13:35.0
  5. Jakob Karlsson, Exsitec Ski Team, +14:30.0

Båstad-Mölle – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team. 

From the start, Bångman showed a commanding performance and broke away from her competitors, working with a few men’s athletes to increase her lead and winning the race with a solo performance totaling 3:31:55.0. 

Linnea Johansson, Lager 157 Ski Team, finished in second place, 10:57.0 behind, followed by Jeanette Malm, DPONLY Ski Team, 2:29:53.0 back and completing the podium in the third position.

  1. Hedda Bångman, Vltava Fund Ski Team, 3:31:55.0
  2. Linnea Johansson, Lager 157 Ski Team, +10:57.0
  3. Jeanette Malm, DPONLY Ski Team, +2:29:53.0
