The Ski Classics Challengers event Vaajmarathon is a 42km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique taking place this Saturday, August 12, in Norway-Sweden.

Vaajmarathon is a unique roller ski race, starting this year in Norway, crossing the border, and finishing in Sweden.

Vaajmarathon will take place in the beautiful area of Hotagen, only 100km from Östersund, Sweden. The organizers invite professional and recreational skiers to a roller skiing event crossing the Norwegian-Swedish border.

In 2023, Vaajmarathon is celebrating its fifth edition, and the race has a unique feature offering a memorable experience to participants. They have a chance to cross the border from Norway to Sweden during the race. This year, the course stretches from Mebygda, Norway, finishing at Rötviken, Sweden.

Many of the top athletes in Ski Classics live in Östersund, Sweden, which is quite close to Rötviken, and the race has attracted some of the strongest athletes from the Pro Tour.

Some Pro Tour athletes have already confirmed their participation in this year’s edition. Ida Dahl, Hedda Bångman, Sofie Elebro, Eddie Edström, Axel Jutterström, and Oskar Kardin are some of the athletes on the start line and ready to test their form.

A preliminary start list can be found HERE.

Vaajmarathon is part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit and a seeding race to Vasaloppet.
