The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Flyktningerennet, also called Flyktingloppet in Sweden, is a 44km race in classic technique and takes place this Sunday, April 3.

Flyktningerennet history goes back to 1950 when the first race took place to honor and remember the refugees escaping across the border from Norway to Sweden during World War II.

The 44km long-distance race in classic technique celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2022 and stretches from Nordli, Norway, to Gäddede, Sweden, being part of the Visma Ski Classics series.

In addition to the main 44km race, the event also features 12 and 17km events, gathering both Pro Tour athletes and recreational skiers.
