The Ski Classics Challengers event Åsarna Ski Marathon planned to take place this Saturday is now postponed to Sunday, February 11, due to the cold weather forecast.

Åsarna Ski Marathon takes place for the 16^th time in 2024, and the 46km long-distance skiing course is presented in one big loop, leading through true Swedish wilderness. According to a press release from the Local Organizing Committee, due to the cold forecast for Saturday, February 10, the event is postponed to Sunday, February 11, with the same start times.

The start takes place at Åsarna Gamla Kyrka (Old Church), and the finish line is a little further South at Åsarna Ski Stadium. Good to remember that the competition is also a seeding race for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan.

Åsarna town is located 70km south of Östersund, and the Organization Committee welcomes Pro Tour athletes and recreational skiers to visit a small village with a long ski history.

Apart from the 46km race that is part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, shorter races of 18 and 8km are also on the program.

As the Åsarna Ski Marathon 46km race is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
