Cermis Final Climb: Pro Team athletes dominated the Popular Race
The Fiemme World Cup Organizing Committee orchestrated a thrilling Popular Race to celebrate the final stage of the Roller Ski World Cup 2023. The event took place on Sunday, September 10, with a 13 km uphill mass start in classic technique called the “Cermis Final Climb Popular Race.”
At the end of an exciting day, Ski Classics Pro Team athletes dominated the podium.
13km Men’s Uphill Mass Start Race C – “Cermis Final Climb”
In the 13km men’s uphill mass start race, we saw Emanuele Busin, Team Internorm Alpenplus Trentino by SottoZero, taking home first place with a total time of 39:29.
“We started in a big group, and I took it easy both the first downhill and the second lap. The important thing today, however, was not to get hurt for someone like me who does not have so much technique on roller skis. In the second part of the race, mainly Stefano Mich and I controlled. With one and a half kilometers to go, Stefano launched an attack, and there were four of us left. The last 500 meters were played out between me my teammate Francesco Ferrari, and Stefano, and in the end, I managed to win in the final sprint. I am very happy because it is an unexpected victory for me,” says Busin to Newspower.it after the victory.
Stefano Mich, Team Futura Trentino Dolomiten Trauma Clinic, snagged second place, 1 second back, and Francesco Ferrari, Team Internorm Alpenplus Trentino by SottoZero, completed the podium in third place, 5 seconds behind the winner.
