Ski Classics is about to start the Pro Tour Season XVI. There are many legendary race winners whose achievements at Marcialonga, Jizerská50, Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerrennet, and many other events are still fresh in our memories. Still, do you know who are the Ski Classics Legends?

Long-distance skiing as a race format has existed for decades, but to become a Legend, a Pro Team athlete must win at least five individual Ski Classics Pro Tour events, with the races before the first season of Ski Classics also counting for athletes that have been taking part in Ski Classics.

But who is the number one Legend? This question shouldn’t take too long to be answered as it is clear: Britta Johansson Norgren. She had 25 victories during her prosperous career.

Johansson Norgren is followed nearly by two other Legends, still in activity and able to close the gap: Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, with 19 wins, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, with 18 event wins.

At the moment, were inducted into the Ski Classics Hall of Fame 23 skiers, ranging from 25 victories – Britta Johansson Norgren, through the new additions during Season XV, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, with 8 wins, Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, with 7 wins, to 5 wins – Daniel Tynell, John Kristian Dahl, Sandra Hansson, and Magni Smedås, Team Eksjöhus, also a new addition to the Hall of Fame last season.

Ski Classics Season XVI

The upcoming Season XVI kicks off in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 13, 2024, with the Pro Team Presentation and ends in Finnsnes, Norway, with the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on March 30, 2025. Throughout the Pro Tour, Pro Team athletes will cover an impressive distance of 663 racing kilometers.
