Swedish biathlon star leaving Östersund, moving back home
Linn Gestblom and her husband, Christian, have become homeowners. After the season, she will leave Östersund for Torsby in Värmland.
In the mixed relay, Linn Gestblom made her World Cup comeback after a long period of rehab. For the rest of the week, she was listed as a reserve, ready to step in if illness hit the Swedish team.

Bought a farm
At the same time, she and her husband, Christian, have bought a farm outside Torsby. After many years in Östersund, the moving trucks are now headed to her hometown.
“It’s a farm outside Torsby, with a bit of land. We’ll take possession at the end of the year. I’m really looking forward to that. It will be fun, and a bit nerve-wracking too. It’s probably the biggest purchase you make in life. We jumped when the opportunity came,” Linn Gestblom tells NWT.
Is there a lot that needs fixing?
“No, it’s basically just moving in. It’s very nice and in good order. In the future, you might want to change something.”
“Hopefully I won’t be home that much”
If everything goes to plan this season, Linn won’t be home very much at first.
“Christian might start settling in earlier. Hopefully I won’t be home that much anyway,” she says, thinking about the World Cup and the Olympics in February.
She also sees several advantages to having her own place in Torsby.
“I’m home quite a lot every year, so it’s good to have something of your own and not live with mom and dad.”
Her apartment in Östersund will remain for now.
“At least until after the season, then we’ll see what we do. It’s convenient to have something up here.”
