Sunday’s Swedish pursuit test race followed Saturday’s sprint event, with Elvira Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson showing top form just over a month before the Swedish biathlon season begins.

Yesterday, Ella Halvarsson and Samuelsson took the wins in the sprint, but today’s pursuit brought several changes to the results.

Elvira Öberg, who missed the podium yesterday, took her revenge in style in today’s pursuit. With only one missed target, she skied to victory ahead of Ella Halvarsson in second place and Johanna Skottheim, who finished third.

  2. Ella Halvarsson, 0-0-1-2
  3. Johanna Skottheim, 1-0-3-0

Samuelsson dominant

Sebastian Samuelsson once again proved his class, winning the men’s pursuit by a wide margin. Malte Stefansson climbed strongly to second despite five missed shots, while Martin Ponsiluoma secured third after six penalties.

“After sprint comes pursuit! Today’s winners of our test races were Elvira Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson! Way to go!” the national team wrote on social media.
