On paper, the 197,5km from Beluša to Galanta is the easiest of this year’s Tour of Slovakia.

Not a single KOM-point to be picked up and a bit of the silence before the storm, with Sunday’s brutal mountain finish expected to decide the GC battle.

Stage 4 has Paul Magnier written all over it. The French super sprinter will be very hard to beat on the flat stage taking the riders south to the finish in Galanta.

With no KOM-sprints and two intermediate sprints on the way, it’s probably set up for a bunch sprint. If not, any riders will be able to break away and stay clear to the finish. But so far, the World Tour teams have controlled the peloton with no big problems.

Wind can always be a factor in a stage like this, but so far, the Tour of Slovakia’s 70th edition has not been hit by any strong winds. And with 35 totally flat kilometers to the finish, the chance for a mass sprint is very high.
