Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII continues on Saturday, December 19, 2026, with the Bad Gastein ITT, a 7km individual time trial in Sportgastein, Austria.

For the first time, the season returns to the same area for a second weekend, and Bad Gastein has more in store. The action resumes with another individual start with the Bad Gastein ITT. Stretching over a 7km flat course, this race will reward athletes with the capacity to push continuously hard while managing their effort wisely, as there will simply be no time to rest.

This is the third of four Bad Gastein Tour events. Results here count toward the season standings as usual, with prize money for the block settled once the full Tour is completed.

“The Bad Gastein ITT is made for fast and powerful skiers who perform best on flat terrain. Starting individually, each skier races against the clock on a 7km course with a predominantly flat profile. The short distance means there is no room to hold back; every second counts, and the athletes have to give everything from the start to the finish,” says Thomas Zlöbl, Chief of Competition.

“This is a different test than the Prologue. Seven kilometers against the clock asks for a steady rhythm, not just a fast start. With 300 points on a course like this, the ITT carries real weight for the Tour standings, and athletes who can hold their effort evenly from start to finish will gain the most here,” says Lukas Bauer, Ski Classics Race Director.
