The Ski Classics Challengers event, Vaajmarathon, took place last Saturday with a 44km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique on the Norwegian-Swedish border, from Mebygda, Norway, to Rötviken, Sweden.

Vaajmarathon 2026

Many Ski Classics Pro Team athletes and traditional cross-country skiers matched their skills in a tough race from Mebygda, Norway, crossing the border to Rötviken, Sweden.

After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers Vaajmarathon event saw Emilie Fleten, Team Engcon, and Gabriel Strid, Team GS8, win with solid performances.

Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Emilie Fleten, Team Engcon, won with a total time of 1:51:11.8.

Tova Andersson, Östersunds SK, finished in second place and 2:46.0 back. Alva Svahn, Östersunds SK, 2:46.7 behind, finished in third place.

Podium

Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Gabriel Strid, Team GS8, with a total time of 1:40:19.6.

Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, finished in second place, 0.5 seconds behind, followed by Oskar Svensson, Falun Borlänge SK, 0.6 seconds back and completing the podium in third position.
