The Swedish Biathlon Association has named its A-national biathlon team for the 2026/2027 season.

The Swedish Biathlon Association has named its A-national biathlon team for the 2026/2027 season.

According to a press release from the Swedish Biathlon Association, the A-national biathlon team for the 2026/2027 season has now been selected.

Anna-Maria Uusitalo, the Sports Director of the Swedish Biathlon Association, says in the press release:

“We are on a strong foundation but are far from done. The selection for this season is both about performing here and now and about developing skiers and leaders for the future.”

The A-team consists of 14 athletes (8 women and 6 men), with Philip Lindkvist Flötten new to the A-team after being on the Team Dina Försäkringar last season.

Lindkvist Flötten shares his excitement:

“It feels great to be part of the A-national team. This is a goal that I have had, and to be part of it now feels great. I am looking forward to moving to Östersund and starting training together with the others in the team.”

Johannes Lukas leads the work as head coach together with Jonne Kähkönen, Johan Hagström, and Mattias Nilsson.

“Within the new coaching group, under the leadership of the sports director, we have developed a good plan for the upcoming training season. We will work more closely between the national teams with the aim of developing the entire elite activity within Swedish biathlon,” says head coach Johannes Lukas, and adds:

“It feels very positive that almost all established active members choose to continue. It creates a sense of security in the group where everyone knows each other well and where we already have a nice dynamic. At the same time, it is exciting to bring in Philip, a young and very motivated athlete who we believe will be able to develop a lot in this environment.”
