The Ski Classics Challengers event, PyeongChang Loppet, is a 10km mass-start race in freestyle technique, taking place this Saturday, February 21, 2026, in PyeongChang, South Korea.

This weekend, the PyeongChang Loppet, the first-ever Loppet festival in South Korea, will welcome skiers of all levels to a celebration of cross-country skiing in the scenic surroundings of PyeongChang.

A “Loppet” is a traditional ski marathon festival originating in Scandinavia, combining sport, community, and the joy of skiing.

The PyeongChang Loppet aims to create an inclusive winter festival where everyone can participate — from young children taking their first steps on snow to elite athletes competing at the highest level. With a variety of distances and categories, the event offers something for both competitive and recreational skiers.

As part of the festival program, the 10km mass-start freestyle race on February 21, 2026, is registered as a Ski Classics Challengers event, allowing athletes to compete for Ski Classics points.

The event takes place at the Alpensia Cross-Country Center, a venue well known for international competitions and beautifully located in the winter landscape of Gangwon-do. With its world-class facilities and inspiring Olympic legacy, PyeongChang provides a unique setting for South Korea’s first Loppet festival.
