Dachsteinlauf, a new Ski Classics Challengers event scheduled to take place in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria, on January 11, 2026, has been canceled due to adverse snow conditions.

Dachsteinlauf is a 40km long-distance ski race in classic technique taking place in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria. Now, due to adverse snow conditions, it has been canceled for 2026.

The Local Organizing Committee released a notice about the cancellation on their official website

“The Dachsteinlauf has always stood for the highest quality, perfect conditions, and a truly special cross-country skiing experience.
Unfortunately, this year’s snow conditions are not sufficient to carry out the full course at the quality we are accustomed to. Under these circumstances, it would not be possible to meet our own quality standards.

For this reason, we regret to announce that we have to cancel the Dachsteinlauf 2026.

All registration fees already paid will be automatically refunded in the coming weeks. No separate contact is required.

It is important to note that regular cross-country skiing operations remain entirely possible, and the trails will remain available to all cross-country skiers as usual.

Thank you for your understanding.”
