Båstad-Mölle

Since its first edition in 2021, Båstad-Mölle has become a popular stop on the Ski Classics Challengers calendar. The elite 80km race on loan roller skis combines challenge with beauty, set in north-west Skåne on Hallandsåsen, with its rolling hills and sea views.

The start is at Lindallen in Båstad, a town known for its international tennis tournaments and vibrant summer atmosphere. The race then follows a demanding course and finishes on top of Kullaberg in the coastal village of Mölle, right by the sea.

Alongside the elite race, recreational skiers can participate in the 80km Experience event on their own roller skis or opt for shorter distances of 50km and 20km. The organizers also offer 10km, 5km, and 3km youth races, as well as para skiing categories.

Båstad-Mölle will be streamed exclusively on SC PLAY worldwide.

A thousand years of skiing history

Local legends connect Kullaberg with the earliest ski competitions. Stories tell of King Harald Bluetooth and the warrior Palnatoke testing their skills on its steep slopes more than 1,000 years ago, considered by some historians to be the world’s oldest reference to a ski race. Even today, one of the cliffs is known as Palnatoke’s Slope.
