Lapponia Ski Week, a three-stage Ski Classics Challengers event, had its first stage today with a 60km long-distance race in freestyle technique in Finland. Get to know the winners of Stage 1.

Lapponia Ski Week, a three-stage Ski Classics Challengers event, had its first stage today with a 60km long-distance race in freestyle technique in Finland. Get to know the winners of Stage 1.

After a long day of action on Stage 1, the Ski Classics Challengers event saw Thomas Maloney Westgaard, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Kaisa Mäkäräinen, Hiihtocenter 365, win the race with outstanding performances.

Lapponia Ski Week – Stage 1 – Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, stage 1, the winner was Thomas Maloney Westgaard, Team Aker Dæhlie, with a time of 2:32:40.

Miro Karppanen, Lost in Lapland, finished in second place, 0.6 seconds back, followed by Remi Lindholm, Lost in Lapland, completing the podium in third position and 1.0 seconds behind the winner.

  2. Miro Karppanen, Lost in Lapland, +0.6

Lapponia Ski Week – Stage 1 – Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Kaisa Mäkäräinen, Hiihtocenter 365, with a time of 2:41:54, won ahead of Jonna Vestenius, Visa Ski Team Kemi, in second place and 22:11.8 back.

Third place went to Tellervo Ylimartimo, 25:42.3 behind the winner.
