This weekend, the Svenska Spel Summer Tour concluded in Sweden. Linn Sömskar and Anton Grahn were the overall winners after Sunday’s distance race at Lugnet in Falun.

Svenska Spel Summer Tour, the Swedish roller ski tour, began with the Swedish Championship Week in Umeå, continued at the end of August in Trollhättan, and last weekend it was time for the finals in Falun.

Women’s Overall

On the women’s side, it was sure that the closing weekend would, at least in terms of overall classification, be between Linn Sömskar and Moa Hansson.

The duo had gained a clear points advantage over the remaining skiers in the field. Before the final distance race, Linn Sömskar had an eleven-point lead over Moa Hansson. At the 15-kilometer race, Hansson chased Sömskar, but the difference in the result list was “only” two places, which means that Sömskar won overall with a six-point margin.

It is noteworthy that Sömskar wins the overall despite not having won any of the races. But she had three second places and one third place in seven races.

Moa Hansson won the sprint in Umeå and was on the podium in three more races. The third overall was a solid Ella Olsson, who did not race in Umeå.

The weekend’s double winner, Maja Dahlqvist, climbed to a final eighth place after two victories and 100 points.

Men’s Overall

On the men’s side, before the final weekend, it was clear that the overall victory would end up in Mora, in Dalarna County, and the world-famous area for Vasaloppet. It was a battle between Anton Grahn and Eric Rosjö.

Rosjö impressed in the final race and won the 15-kilometer race, but Anton Grahn responded to another sharp effort and thus managed to stay clear with an eight-point margin.

This meant that the junior skier Grahn put all the seniors in place in the overall standings. He does so after winning two sprints (Umeå and Alliansloppet sprint) and being third in two races (Alliansloppet and the sprint in Falun).

Second overall, Eric Rosjö both started and ended the roller ski tour with victories. Third overall was Karl-Johan Westberg.
