Madona Roller Ski World Cup – Day 1

The Roller Ski World Cup had its first day this Friday with a 10/15km individual classic race in Madona, Latvia. Linn Sömskar (SWE) and Matteo Tanel (ITA) won their respective races.

10km Women’s Race – Madona Roller Ski World Cup 

Linn Sömskar (SWE) took first place today at the Madona Roller Ski World Cup in the women’s 10km classic race with a total time of 26:15.4. Keidy Kaasiku (EST) snagged second place, 57.4 seconds behind the winner, and Jackline Lockner (SWE) completed the podium in third place, 1:10.1 back.

15km Men’s Race – Madona Roller Ski World Cup 

In the 15km men’s classic technique race, we saw Matteo Tanel (ITA) taking home first place in a total time of 34:43.7. Tommaso Dellagiacoma (ITA) snagged second place, 31.1 seconds back, and Kasper Herland (NOR) completed the podium in third place, 38.4 seconds behind the winner.

Junior Roller Ski World Championships – Day 1

The Junior Roller Ski World Championships had its first day this Friday with a 7.5km/10km individual race in classic technique in Madona, Latvia. Gerda Kivil (EST) and Anton Grahn (SWE) won their respective races.

Junior Women’s Race – Roller Ski World Championships

Gerda Kivil (EST) took first place today at the FIS Junior Roller Ski World Championships in the junior women’s 7.5km classic race with a total time of 20:49.7. Nora Wallenius (SWE) snagged second place, 10.7 seconds back, and Mira Goeransson (SWE), completed the podium in third place, 28.4 seconds behind the winner.

Junior Men’s Race – Roller Ski World Championships

In the 10km junior men’s classic technique race, we saw Anton Grahn (SWE) taking home first place with a total time of 22:40.7. Jonatan Lindberg (SWE) snagged second place, 28.4 seconds behind the winner, and Sultan Bazarbekov (KAZ) completed the podium in third place, 30.1 seconds back.

The second day of the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships 2023 will see exciting competitions for the roller skiers. Here are the start lists and times for the 200m sprint races in freestyle technique.

The Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships in Madona, Latvia, has attracted 130 athletes from 10 different countries, and today they will battle for the win in the 200m sprint race in freestyle technique for junior women and men and senior women and men.

  • August 18 – individual race in classic technique (15km men; 10 km women and junior men; 7.5km junior women)
  • August 19 – 200m sprint in freestyle technique (women/men and junior women/junior men)
  • August 20 – mass start in freestyle technique (20 km men/junior men and 15 km women/junior women)
