The Visma Ski Classics Season XII starts with the Pro Team Tempo in Orsa Grönklitt, Sweden. This is a brand-new location for the kick-off. The distance of the Tempo is 9km – and they will ski fast!

The Pro Team Tempo format offers a great platform for all Pro Teams to present their athletes, race suits and sponsors.

TEAMWORK TO REACH TOP SPEED

The Pro Team Tempo event is organized as an interval start competition with block starts, one Pro Team is starting at a time in reversed order according to the Pro Team ranking of last season. The gap between the blocks is 4 minutes and the women athletes start 30 seconds after their men Pro Team athletes. The finishing time of the 2nd ranked man and the 2nd ranked woman of the team will count for the classification. This means it is crucial for the athletes to work together and help each other to reach joint top speed.

SUNDAY INDIVIDUAL PROLOGUE

The Sunday Orsa Grönklitt Individual Prologue is a 33km mass-start race. The Sprint and Climb competitions start here with several chances to collect valuable points for the season. For the Champion competition, the standard points will apply, but for the Sprint and Climb competitions, skiers will get 50% of the standard points.

A CROSS-COUNTRY HEAVEN

Orsa Grönklitt is located about 30km north from Mora, the finish town of Vasaloppet. It is a popular winter sports resort with well-groomed cross-country ski tracks through beautiful forests and downhill slopes of all difficulty levels. Moreover, visitors have a chance to ski next to Polar bears, tigers or some of the other non-hibernating predators in the “Orsa bear-park”. In the summer, one can enjoy the beauty of nature by trail-running, mountain-biking, paddling on Rädsjön and just relaxing in the midst of the Swedish wonderland.
