Tjejvasan

Tjejvasan, the World’s largest long-distance race for women, took place today in Sweden, starting in Oxberg and finishing in Mora. Soon after a fast start, led by Moa Lundgren and Emilie Fleten, a group of 20 skiers was formed, including all the favorites.

A few kilometers into the race, a leading group of seven skiers was formed, with three chasers trying to close the gap.

At Hökberg, 11km into the race, five skiers crossed first within 2.6 seconds: Roivas, Fleten, Elebro, Lundgren, and Hedenström. Dahl crossed the checkpoint in sixth place, 6.4 seconds behind the leader and struggling to keep pace.

At the Eldris split, with 9km to go, the leading group was working powerfully in the front, with a group of three chasers, Ida Dahl, Evelina Crusell, and Louise Lindström, already 1:07 behind the leaders.

At the end of today’s Tjejvasan, after a fierce battle between the leading group and a solid sprint, the winner was Kati Roivas, Team Eksjöhus, with a total time of 1:16:14.5. The first time a Finnish victory at the traditional women’s event.

Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, finished in second place, 0.6 seconds behind the winner, followed by Moa Lundgren, Åsarna IK, 0.7 seconds back, and completing the podium in the third position.
